The Chairman of Strategy Consulting Limited, John Courtney has been a Company Director for over 20 years, including many years as Chairman or Managing Director in his own businesses which have ranged from sporting goods to agricultural chemicals. He has been a Non Executive Director for several SME’s.
John has trained at The Academy of Business Strategy, and is an associate of the Institute of Consulting (membership: P10691), and a member of the Institute of Directors. He is also a visiting lecturer on the MBA course at Cranfield University School of Management and is also a Judge in The National Business Awards sponsored by Orange.
John has run training seminars at board level on corporate strategy and made presentations to both large and small groups on funding strategies. He brings a wealth of experience, particularly in corporate strategy, funding, business planning, internet strategy and marketing strategy including new product development and brand marketing strategy.
John is an approachable, practical, down to earth consultant comfortable in the board room of PLCs as well as helping with implementation with smaller companies.

Kathryn Dawson is the company’s Marketing Director, and she is also an experienced and multi-skilled consultant in her own right. Prior to Strategy Consulting, Kath was head of Strategic Business Analysis and International Client Administration with a multinational corporation and operated in both the UK and USA.
Kath is mainly responsible for client, supplier and associate relationships. Her passion is to deliver effective Search Engine Optimisation for clients.
Stephanie’s talent is in Sales and Marketing Management. Her career spans almost 20 years and has been split between these two sectors, initially in Media and then in Freight Forwarding. Stephanie also spent 8 years assisting in the rebuilding of the largest Kuwaiti Newspaper’s Commercial Press, she then worked in southern California working in Video Production and then in Freight Forwarding.
Stephanie assists our clients by heightening their awareness of the various funding and strategic tools that we work with to ensure that they have the optimum amount of options available to progress their business.
Chartered Marketer, FCIM, DipM
Ann began her long and varied marketing career with household names such as Fisons, RS Components and Bostik. Whilst working for the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, Ann developed and implemented a strategy to communicate the health and safety message both in the UK and overseas to various safety critical industries including construction, rail, oil and healthcare.
Her last position as an employee was as Marketing Director for Catalis Rail Training, an international supplier of training and development services to the rail industry, where Ann had responsibility to develop a management portfolio of services for the newly privatised industry. Clients included Railtrack, Virgin Trains, Amec, Balfour, Alstom and Kier.
Today, Ann advises on strategic marketing direction to meet clients’ business objectives. In addition, Ann overseas the implementation of marketing plans to ensure the various tactical aspects are adopted across the breadth of the marketing mix. Despite holding senior positions, Ann has never lost the ability to ‘roll up her sleeves’ and deliver cost-effective, practical solutions that work.
In recent years, she has supported clients at both a strategic and tactical level across a number of industries including Construction, NHS and Healthcare, Rail, FMCG, Leisure and IT.
As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Chartered Marketer, Ann has lectured for the professional CIM exams and delivered numerous training courses on marketing.
Outside of work, Ann is an avid follower and member of Leicester Tigers and England rugby supporters clubs.
David is an Associate Director with Strategy Consulting and an Associate with Beer & Partners. He has helped many businesses obtain funding via private equity investments and the Small Firm’s Loan Guarantee Scheme and is an expert at preparing business plans and forecasts for such applications. His wide expertise and experience are also used to help and advise businesses on how to grow and thrive in today’s competitive marketplace. He is also a business advisor with his activities centred mainly on the internet, software and insurance sectors.
David is a former lawyer with over 20 years in claims related professions, the majority of which was spent with the UK’s leading personal injury law firm. He has for many years regularly written articles on IT and business for various industry journals. He holds a number of board positions and has successfully built and sold a number of his own businesses.

Gary is a professional strategist and has been advising directors and managers for more than 20 years. He brings a wealth of expertise in the areas of corporate and business strategy development and implementation; strategic marketing and operations; and business planning.
His sector expertise is wide ranging and centres on his ability to adapt the delivery of his expertise to the specific context of any organisation and industry. Ian Palmer has been a Company Director for over 30 years, including many years as Managing Director of Societe d’Audit Financier, a French finance house and has been involved in angel funding and bank finance for many years.
He successfully lead studies on systems in the UK, South America, the Middle and Far East and Africa. These studies have been carried out for: retail banks, merchant banks, and finance houses and his work has included the definition and implementation of a total strategy for specific financial applications. Palmer’s assignments have included: Banques Popular; Lazard Brothers; Unibanco de Brazil; Bank of Persia; Bank of Cyprus, and Bank of Moscow
As a public speaker, he has lead seminars and workshops at the British Civil Service College, South African Military Intelligence College, UNISA, Group 4 Securitas Training Limited and the Institute of Banking Studies. He has also written Financial Times reports “Financial Crime and the Internet” and “Modern Bank Networks and Security” as well as various papers and books on risk management methods and techniques, crime and the Internet. He was also a visiting lecturer on encryption and Internet Communication Technology at various universities and professional training organisations.
Alona has 9 years experience of PPC and over 15 years in digital marketing as a whole; having worked client side for such internet pioneers as Yahoo!, DoubleClick and Shopping.com. Latterly she has been immersed agency side specialising in paid search working with digital agencies such as i-Level and Steak. She loves the ever changing spectrum that PPC brings and is looking forward to working with Strategy’s clients to make the most of their PPC campaigns.
